My Sewcialites 2 blocks will be sewn according to the colours of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. This month's colour is brown/black/darks so I dug into the brown scrap bin and used up several small pieces in this block. And then I promptly sewed the block incorrectly.
Ugh... seam ripper time.
Here are the first 3 Sewcialites blocks on the design wall - 2 green from October, and 1 brown from November. I'm sewing the blocks in the 6" size, but directions are given for 3", 6" and 9". There will be 24 blocks posted weekly. If you like using up scraps and making fun blocks, join in the fun - click here for more info.

What a fun pattern. I didn't see the arrow at first glance, but in the group photo, it has a nice effect.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are turning out great. Love how you used different fabrics for tha brown one in particular. I have my green 9" block and the batik 6" block done. My 3" blocks are both cut out and ready to go. These have been fun so far.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the Color of the month Rainbow Challenge. I like your blocks. Gotta make #2 and #3 today, maybe. I did the 6" too
ReplyDeleteVert fun blocks. Happy stitching this week.
ReplyDeletegreat blocks
ReplyDeleteI am saving the blocks instructions and hoping for a chance to make them. Your blocks look so pretty, Kathy. Great idea making them according to the colours of the RSC, what color will you use during December? Black and Neutrals?
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty block in the browns! At first I didn't think it would make much of a difference if you re-sewed it, but in the second photo, the arrows definitely do stand out more. Fun to see!
ReplyDeleteYes, I do like it better when the arrow fabrics are matched. I've turned a few blocks incorrectly this week as well. I made a completely reversed Snail Trail. Oh well. It will soon be a candle mat... Happy sewing. Your brown fabrics are so pretty, Kathy.
