Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party!

I have a new knitted dishcloth started. This "Let's go campin" design is a little challenging for me, but I'm plugging along. The pattern is from Knitwits Heaven from the camping category. I don't know if this looks right or wrong, but I'm going to just keep knitting!

And I finished the cross hatch quilting on my word meditation project and am ready to work on the border design. I found this old stencil in the cupboard which fit the space. It was a challenge to mark the design evenly but I'm satisfied with it enough to start stitching with a blue pearl cotton thread.

Spring is supposed to be coming to my neck of the woods, but this is how the little daffodils looked this week. I am eagerly waiting for warm enough weather to stitch outside.

What are you hand stitching today? Is it warm enough to stitch outdoors where you live? I hope you will share your slow progress with us!

  1. I don't have any handwork going, a bit too much going on at our home lately. I hope you have warmer weather soon, it is lovely here now with highs in the 70s, and still cool nights.

  2. I think it's amazing that you can knit words into a little cloth like that! The cross-hatch quilting on your meditation piece looks wonderful, too. Enjoy whatever you stitch on today, Kathy, and I hope nicer weather is in your forecast!

  3. The New dishcloth looks pretty good.
You are doing a great quilting on The word meditation project. The design for the quilting on the borders looks perfect for it. The Weather is crasy all around. Hope you got hot days soon. Happy week.

  5. We had all that snow too...ugh. Today looks like a beautiful day. We are taking Finn for a long walk this afternoon.
Your knitted cloth looks just fine to me. The quilting is coming along nicely too. Enjoy your stitching.

  6. We are warm and blueberry picking in mid Florida - probably the last weekend before the humidity goes to dripping when you exit the house. Thank goodness for the AC so I can stitch all summer! Enjoy your Sunday.

  7. Love the color of your washcloth, it does look challenging! If I go outside to stitch, I have no shade. It is warm enough to stitch outside. We are going to be in the 70s to 80s this week. Happy stitching!

  8. Some days are warm enough to stitch outside, but today it's only 59 degrees F / 15 C. Since my current project is on 40 count fabric, I need a magnifier, so inside stitching today!

I think words in knitting can be a bit problematic, shapes seem to work best for charted knitting, but your cloth looks good. Love the color.

  9. I must admit that I was a little surprised at the photo of the snow at your place. Wow, I would've thought all the snow was just a memory. =) Your word meditation piece looks lovely with the cross hatch quilting. Such a pretty quilting pattern for the border, too. As for the dishcloth, I think it looks spiffy.
