Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the international weekly hand stitching party!

Why not get a project out and enjoy some relaxation?  Try not to think about your "to-do" list, or ruminate about your worries. Just take a stitching break and focus on pulling thread through fabric or knitting stitches with yarn.

This week I traced out a new hand embroidery design and I am excited to start stitching it today.

I have long admired this Gail Pan pattern that a few other slow stitchers have made. You can find the free pattern here if you want to make one too.

I would like to make this for myself as a souvenir of trudging through yet another Covid modified lockdown phase (with schools going virtual again) until the end of January - is it the 4th or 5th wave now? I will stay safe at home today as I hand stitch away my worries.

Are you starting 2022 with a new hand stitching project? Or finishing ones from last year? Link up your blog or instagram post below and share your projects with us.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  2. Great message on your stitching for these times. I did some hand stitching this morning on the binding of a comfort quilt. It's done now. On to the next project!

  3. This embroidery design looks like it would be relatively quick to stitch. So appropriate.

  4. I agree that that message is perfect for the current situation. I have already printed the pattern. We still have school in person, but I have been allowed to conduct my tutoring virtually while I am alone in my classroom. Since there is only one other teacher in that room for one period of the day, this is a nice compromise for me. Stay safe and enjoy your stitching.

  5. Thanks for the link! I love that, and I have several other blocks about bees I might incorporate into something.

  8. That is a pretty one and I do believe I have it saved off somewhere. I just went and downloaded the snowmen embroidery from Pinker n Punkin quilting and stitching. The danger of visiting the linkups is finding oh so many new projects to make! Happy Stitching and thank you for keeping this linkup alive and kickin!

  9. These lockdowns are becoming the new norm or so it seems, I'm happy to say more people here are wearing masks in stores and shops again and some of us just kept on wearing them in public even after vaccinations and boosters, it just made sense. I hope the lockdown isn't too long. I just remembered I have the Gail Pan pattern somewhere in my files. Happy Stitching

  13. Kathy, thank you so very much for sharing the link. This year seems to be turning out to be one in which bravery and unity are called for. I've downloaded it and will be stitching it up for a friend. Thank you!
