It was an embarrassment of riches to pick a UFO to work on this month with so so many to chose from! Let's take a quick peak into the UFO closet. Uh oh - not much room to add to the collection, so the newer UFOs have been piling up on the bottom of the closet.
Better get quilting!
The UFO choice for January is the guild mystery called Milady which was sewn last summer. I added an extra border of blocks I had sewn incorrectly and am very happy with how my mistakes turned out - I think there is a life lesson in there!
The first step is to wash and sew some red yardage for the backing.
Linking to One Monthly Goal
My UFO closet looks like yours. At first, I thought I need to buy more hangers, but I have decided that I should keep the number of hangers constant, and work on finishing the UFOs.
ReplyDeleteOh thats a pretty one
ReplyDeleteand such an organized closet - i love it!
Such a beauty to start the year with. Looking forward to seeing it completed. Happy quilting,
ReplyDeleteThat's an impressive number of UFOs... and your current one is terrific with the original make-do style border.
ReplyDeleteI love the top you are working on. The outer border is delightfully irregularly regular, if you know what I mean!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great looking quilt top, the border adds to the look wonderfully! I have plenty of quilt tops myself. When the drawers don't want to shut then I have to find new places to stash the tops!:)
ReplyDeleteLooking at your UFO closet, I had this strange sense of deja vu, and I even think I heard the Twilight Zone theme. Weird!
ReplyDeleteFun choice for a January finish. Looks like some fun spaces for quilting. Enjoy having more space in your closet!
ReplyDeleteGreat pile of flimsiest to finish
ReplyDeleteA closet full of UFOs. Yikes. Although it makes way more sense than stashing in boxes and bags all over the studio and the extra bedroom next to the studio! I like your UFO choice for January. I hope you get it done too.
