Welcome to the first hand stitching party of 2022!
I am celebrating making it to another year by sewing all weekend and zooming with friends! Yesterday I started 2 mystery quilts and will post about those tomorrow.
My biggest accomplishment this week was finishing my December UFO that was 4 years in the making. I was a little worried about stitching the binding on these 135 degree angles, but it went very well.
I savoured this hand stitching as 2021 came to an end, and wondered what I would hand stitch in 2022.
I have a project in mind to start and I pulled out these Valdani threads, plus a white for the background and the blue fabric for the border. Can't wait to get started!

ReplyDeletefor the slow Sunday I will work mainly on the binding I think of the Drunkard's Path - I would like to get that big quilt off the couch and finished.

ReplyDeleteLovely job on the quilting Kathy.. It is fun to see the different ways you can quilt each part.. Even the leafy swirls in the background look very different. .Yours are much looser and that looks so much nicer! Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your beautiful Christmas tree finish, Kathy! I remember those Debbie Mumm fabrics! You did a great job with the quilting, too. I like the contrast between the curvy, loopy background quilting against the straight line quilting in the star blocks and the texture of the tree boughs. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour little tree quilt looks wonderful. That pattern would also make a lovely little tree skirt as well. I like the way the quilting turned out on it.

ReplyDeleteYes, so glad to have survived 2021. I did get COVID, but was vaccinated and boostered, so it was like having a bad sinus infection with fatigue. I plan to keep working on my QAYG hexies and maybe stitching up some tea towels I have acquired. Basically, I plan to use what's in my sewing room as we prepare financially for my husband's retirement. Yea!
