Scrappy Saturday

September was a productive sewing month and I added red blocks to two of my ongoing projects. Several easy breezy leader-ender blocks were cut from scraps and I enjoyed using up a variety of background fabrics. Because I am sewing these blocks in true leader-ender style, I only finished 4 of the blocks I cut so far. This sewing will continue into October.

And these are the mini 3" arrowhead blocks made from red scraps. I now have over 100 blocks in the collection and have started thinking about possible layouts.

I have started to sew some blocks into 4 patches to make layout design process a bit easier. I have 12 blocks of 4 sewn together so far. I need to sew more pink and yellow blocks.

  1. Easy breezy blocks are one of my rainbow projects too! I'm looking forward to seeing what the color is for October so I can get started piecing. Happy stitching!

  3. Love those little arrowhead blocks. I think this month’s colour is yellow as that is the only colour left on her list that has not been used yet. Do the scraps ever get used up??.
