August Miniature Quilt

August Miniature Quilt

Wendy who blogs at The Constant Quilter hosts a miniature quilt party at the end of each month. This is my finished mini for August. It was exactly what the Doctor ordered for this month (just kidding, no Doctor gives quilting orders!)

Max and the Mini

To give you a better size perspective, we have Max the granddog posing with the finished quilt. Yes, he is bigger than the quilt and definitely cuter!

Finished Size: 9.5" x 12.5"

It was hours of mindless fun to play with 1" scraps and make a little quilted treasure out of 70 little squares that finish at half an inch.

  1. Oh, I don't know about that. I think Max has some serious competition with the cuteness factor. This quilt is adorable! And of course so is Max. We love our grand pups don't we? Thanks for another great mini!

  2. Wow, thanks for the perspective...I didn't realize it was soooo tiny. I have to google how big to make a doll quilt. My granddaughter is 3 and I think a new "baby" and a quilt for the doll would make a good Christmas gift this year.

  3. Oh your Shitzu is adorable. We tried to have 2 about 8 years ago, but it was the wrong breeder and we gave up! Just beautiful puppy and love the quilt! I am going to join in for September

  11. There is something very refreshing in the look of your mini mini. And Max looks like he's got something important to say! How cute.

  12. Oh my - such tiny scraps! It must've been great therapy to play with them! And btw, I'm going to tell my doctor she should start ordering fabric therapy as a necessary treatment for whatever ails anyone!

  14. Mug rug size. I've had a work in progress with pieces that small for years now. I keep forgetting to work on it (and now I need to cut more fabric).
