Finally all the Shoo Fly blocks are on the design wall and the quilt top is coming together. Many sections are sewn together, and I hope to finish the quilt top this week. There are 140 Shoo Fly blocks in this quilt!
Many of the scraps came from leftovers from friends' projects and most came from projects I have worked on over the past year. I have had a great time making these blocks, but now there is a new leader-ender project to start, so this one must be finished! Linking up to Small Quilts
I started Shoo Fly Shoo, but wasn’t happy with them. I think my scraps made ugly shoo fly block! I am trying Easy Breezy this year! I hope I like them better!
Yea! It looks like a finish is in your near future. I like the shoe fly but didn't participate. But I've started Easy Breezy at 6". I'm done with itty bitty blocks. (although, honestly, I know 4" really isn't itty bitty!)
Such happy and cute blocks! I didn’t join last year’s leader—ender as it was just too small for me, but jumped in on Easy Breezy. So simple and triangle free.
This is fabulous, Kathy! It's amazing how you can make the same block in different fabrics and it comes out looking like something completely different. Your Shoo Fly blocks sparkle like jewels; and the fussy cut centers are fabulous!
Great Shoo Fly blocks! I love it when people just use the leader/ender challenge as REAL leader/enders! I love how the blocks are so different but still a Shoo Fly. Great job!
So fun! I really like how you vary contrast and fabric to get some different shapes/looks sprinkled here and there. Great way to use some fussy cuts, too.
So many interesting fabrics. You have a great collection gathered from friends and your own stash I like the maple leaf fabric block. So representative of your country.
Love those fussy cut blocks! I typed "fussy cute" at first, and that's actually a good phrase for these :)
ReplyDeleteI have followed your blog for quite a while now. Love all the scrappy quilts you make. You make so many... what do you do with them? 💐
