We made it to Friday! That was one tough week!
We all know that laughter is good for us in maintaining a healthy immune system, so I am reposting this meme that I saw on Deborah's blog last week.
It made me laugh out loud! We have been training for this y'all... we can do this! I'm sure we have enough fabric, floss, thread, yarn, and beads stashed in our homes to keep us occupied for years. Let's use it up!
I have been tempted to the Nth degree (which means a lot) this week! So many quilt alongs and virtual events are popping up to start new projects.
Here are two that I am seriously considering starting:
1) a mystery quilt (my favourite) Laundry basket quilts with Edyta Sitar making a 100 block quilt in the next 15 days... FUN!
2) a quiltalong with Godrun and Bonnie on Sunday to make an Elvira quarantine quilt in one day... FUN!
What about you? Are you joining in? Are you starting new projects to boost your spirits?
All spare time this week has been spent doing jigsaw puzzles and machine quilting my March UFO. I am "outline stitching" the smaller asterisk blocks because they were getting a little puffy for some unknown reason. It's getting exciting since I'm so close to finishing. I have the binding picked out and ready to attach once the quilting is finished!
At the moment I am steering clear of any new projects and hoping this enforced break will allow me to catch my breath and finish some of the UFOs in the pile.
ReplyDeleteHope to be visiting Slow Stitching regularly.
We are so lucky to have our hobby. Stitch on! I'm going to check out the links. So much going on, also here in Norway, to replace the fun we should have had this weekend with 200+ ladies gathered.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I have so many projects on my ‘to do’ list that I must resist temptation to begin a quilt along even one hosted by Edyta. Stay well!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on UFO's! And, organizing and taming my leaders/enders. Wow, I had two drawers full! A friend came over before all this isolation started and we had a good day sorting and planning projects. I will do a blog post eventually! Right now I have an almost finished top on the table that's at least 12 or 13 years old!! One more center block and I can finish putting the top together!! And, NO new projects (I hope LOL)
ReplyDeleteWhile I might jump into a QAL (or two) I'm trying to focus on making progress on my UFOs. There are SEW many of them! We'll see how it goes...
ReplyDeleteI am using my bullet journaling to keep me busy with all my current projects... making progress there and have though up more from my stash.. no worries here... on abx for a sinus infection so quarantined anyway for that.
ReplyDeleteTake care & stay healthy! Love your meme that was shared here :D

I signed up for the Laundry Basket newsletter and will see what that quilt is going to be like and maybe make it - I had not seen that so thanks for mentioning it. Yes quilters/stitchers/knitters/crochet we have been ready to stay at home for years and have plenty to keep us busy
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and fabrics in your asterix quilt. Keep calm and stitch on.
ReplyDeleteAs tempting as another new project always is, I'm going to be good this time :)
ReplyDeleteQuilters are better equipped to handle a prolonged time at home. It is a gorgeous day today, 70 degrees and sunny, perfect for an outing, so we might do a hike on a mountain trail where there aren't many people. I've got plenty of projects to see me through a few weeks, stay well and stitch on!
ReplyDeleteMy current state of mind is so fuzzy that I'm concentrating on quilting up some UFOs. The creative process of choosing fabrics and piecing seems to be beyond me right now. But that's ok, I can calmly FMQ easy motifs and make progress toward finished quilts :)
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, I just checked out the Elvira QAL and that looks super fun and easy! I'm pretty sure I have a FQ bundle of flannel that was donated to Covered in Love and I could just stitch those puppies up in the one day QAL. Thanks for linking to some inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteWith all this time to be home, I decided to start a new project. It has been sitting in a bag for awhile. Louise gave me a bundle of fat quarters. One fabric in the bundle I am using (by chance)in another BOM quilt. It is soft blues and beiges with two navy blue snowflakes glued to the top once it is finished. I love snowflakes. I was going to hand applique but decided to glue down and machine blanket stitch around them.
ReplyDeleteWill definitely be watching Bonnie and Godrun but not going to make their quilt.
I am working from home so I still don't have a lot of time to sew. I want to finish some before bringing in some more. I'll be checking on those projects though. Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteI am continuing to remain focused on my current projects and UFOs. It is so hard to not join in all the fun! However, I still have to go to work, as I work for USPS, and not too likely that I will ever be staying home during any crisis.
ReplyDeleteNo new SALs for me (no old ones, either). Though UFOs are my main focus this year, I did drag out a kit I purchased a year or so ago for a mini quilt, and it is currently in the works.
ReplyDeletestitch on! I'm definitely in training! I'm determined to get some UFOs completed but I am going to take a peak at those two new challenges.
