For the second Frolic week we made rectangle blocks from neutrals and "raspberries".Instead of using strips, I used up a lot of left over charm squares making these blocks. These are from the "Miss Scarlet" charm pack. If I cut carefully I could get 6 pieces from each charm square. So happy to find a place for these leftovers!
Here are my blocks. The variety achieved when using charm squares is wonderful! These first 2 steps have been quick and easy. While I'm eagerly waiting for step #3, I guess I'll work on finishing some Christmas gifts!
Yes I am waiting too...I think this is the first mystery that I have actually kept up with the clues and finished the work. Might not be the same when we get closer to Christmas!!
It's coming along well. I only ever started one of Bonnies mystery quilts, gave up, but have used some of the previously sewn blocks in other projects.
Love how much variety you have with basically 2 colors, red and white or off white. Pretty amazing. Will be fun to see what you end up with. It always is.
I was thinking exactly that! It's a great variety of fabrics. Looking forward to seeing this develop
ReplyDeleteGreat use of an unused Charm Pack, Kathy!! Thanks for the reminder that I have more fabric hiding in my studio than I ever imagined.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to be able to use up those scraps? BTW, they are absolutely gorgeous - you are off to a lovely start.
ReplyDeleteThese look awesome! I haven't had a chance to start mine yet but hopefully tonight!
ReplyDeleteNice - I love scrappy quilts!
ReplyDeleteGood choice! Wonder what Fridays Part 3 will be?? Look out, we are warned on the Quiltville FB group.
