Welcome to the weekly hand stitching party!
Last night we turned the clocks back one hour because it is the end of Daylight Saving Time. Which means (in theory) that we all get one extra hour of time. In truth it feels like I get an extra hour of darkness every day!
What are you going to do with the "extra hour"?
I'm sure we'll all have a little bit more progress on our projects because we'll all be stitching for one more hour! LOL
I'm happy with my hand stitching efforts this week because in spite of a flare up of hand pain, I was able to finish my Scrap Dance Tango quilt including 239" of hand stitched binding!
I also finished up two embroidery blocks. This is a Gail pan pattern from her I Stitch club last year (this year is a Christmas theme).
You'll have to stop by tomorrow morning to see my other finished embroidery block as it's the centre of block #4 for the Happy Little Things blog hop.
What are you hand stitching today? We hope you will link up your blog post below and share your project with us.
What did I do with my extra hour? I got up an hour "earlier" than normal! It takes me a long time to adjust my sleep patterns. Happy Stitching!
ReplyDeleteI turned my clocks back on Saturday afternoon so I could make sure to use that hour to hand quilt. HeHe Glad to hear you were able to stitch, just don't overdo it! We want to be able to keep stitching. Your embroidery always inspires me to start another project.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Gretchen, all it got me was an extra hour in the morning to play on the computer. But I did get a bit done this morning. I hope to get back to my wool stitchery this week.
ReplyDeleteI love your Scrap Dance Tango quilt, and pretty binding ;)
ReplyDeleteSo far, I've just gotten up earlier than usual. I went to bed earlier, too. I had plenty of sleep!!
ReplyDeleteI forgot all about it and went to bed early and I got an extra hour of sleep.
ReplyDeleteLOL! All the responses are tickling my funny bone! I used part of my extra hour to do a blog post! I'll use the rest to stitch!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Gail Pan house is so fun! I love the colorful thread you used. We turned our clocks back before we went to bed, so I guess I went to bed an hour early last night!
ReplyDeleteI love your Gail Pan house. That is great thread. I woke up an several hours earlier. Glad your hand is doing a bit better!
ReplyDeleteI was up before 0600. My handstitching right now is knitting an afghan. I am working on the yarn stash-2 boxes remained. 1 afghan finished last week and this will finish off the yarn! Yea me :-D
ReplyDeleteLoving the Gail Pan pieces you are working on, and oh those time changes, this year I set the stove clock back before bed and waited for morning to climb the step ladder for the other clocks on the wall.
ReplyDeleteTake it easy on that hand although I find stitching is good exercise to keep hands and fingers nimble! Lots going on in my sewing room, many blog posts coming this week!!Guess I will spread my extra hour out over many days and do those posts!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the time reminder. Lucky I use my cell for my alarm clock and it magically sets itself. Wow the first time since I purchased my stove it has the correct time.
ReplyDeleteI love your site. My Mom started me hand sewing when I was 5, along time ago. Embroidery dresser scarf.
Good news that you were able to accomplish hand sewing this past week. I hope your hand flare-up goes away for good. Gail Pan blocks are sweet. Looking forward to tomorrow's post to view another finished block.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy: I am so sorry your hand is sore, I hope it is nothing serious and heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteI love the embroidered house so sweet, I will check in tomorrow to see the other finish.
I walked the dog at 4:30 instead of 5:30, did not even look at the clock, paper man had not even come by yet.
Have a great week.
Catherine
Hope your hand pain is decreasing and you are able to get in lots of hand work this week. Congrats on finishing off Scrap Dance Tango.
