Welcome to the Slow Sunday Stitching linky party! If you enjoy hand stitching of any kind, then you have found your tribe! You are welcome to join us here every Sunday and learn how we keep ourselves stitched together... it's one stitch at a time!
I've had a long and tiring week, so today (once I cook brunch for the family, clean up and wash the dishes, and then drive my daughter to get the bus home - which is at least a 2 hour production for me) I intend to put my feet up and enjoy some hand stitching time. I long for the "mindless needle pulling thread" feeling. I'll be working on the same Gail Pan embroidery block that I've been slowly working on for a couple of weeks. I have the fence posts stitched, but it's slow going. That's how life feels in the middle of the winter... like moving slowly through mud, with extraordinary effort, but not much productivity. I am familiar with this midwinter feeling, and I know it will pass, so I slowly stitch on!
What are you hand stitching today? I look forward to being inspired by your hand stitching posts. Thank you for sharing!
An InLinkz Link-up
All I have hand stitched lately are quilt bindings. Nothing special. Your embroidery is coming along, very pretty design.
ReplyDeleteI need to do some clean-up today as well. Hope you had a great visit with your daughter. I LOVE the new header on your blog. I did not participate in that Bonnie Hunter mystery. I am glad I participated in Good Fortune. I will be working on that today. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteYour embroidery is beautiful! I think it's okay that we can keep on with the same embroidery over time. I sew on the same Gail Pan embroidery that I have been doing for over a month now. There is much else going on and I also sew several other projects with sewing machine. Happy stitching! :-)
ReplyDeleteI was at a guild meeting yesterday and did some cross stitching during sewing time. One of the other guild members commented that she could never do cross stitch because the results were so slow coming along. Obviously, she is not a member of our tribe! Have a relaxing time this afternoon, adding more slow stitches to your cute embroidery project!
ReplyDeletelove that stitchery!
ReplyDeleteLife does get in the way of sewing sometimes - frustrating I know! I hope once you have finished your chores and done with running the family around you get a chance to catch your breath and enjoy your stitching!
ReplyDeleteI think you nailed the midwinter feeling perfectly! Best to just go with it, I think. Enjoy your stitching time, Kathy, and thanks for hosting us!
ReplyDeleteThese projects really are "slow stitching". They take time and thought. I enjoy a quick sewing project on the machine, but there is nothing like sitting down with an "old friend" and working through all those little stitches.
ReplyDeleteYour embroidery block is very pretty. Thank goodness we have our stitching in these humdrum months. Thank you for hosting this fun link up! I am adding all of these blogs to my reader. I found you via thepolkadotchicken.
ReplyDeleteI am not stitching but I am unstitching...which is very time consuming! I have an old sweater that was my father's and I am attempting to unknit it in order to make something that will be a keepsake for me!
ReplyDeleteKathy, the Bonnie Hunter quilt you are featuring in your cover photo is amazing. Love the fabrics you chose! Will you keep that photo up for awhile?
