New Rainbow Scrap Challenge Projects

I started some new projects this week. Perhaps it's a flare up of my chronic illness called "Startitis"!!
I wanted to try both of these patterns and see how I like them.
First is the Temecula One Block sew along. I'm not sure of the name of this block, but I like it and think it looks like a doughnut, so I'm calling my project "Scrap doughnuts"! Don't you think it will be a great scrap user?? It measures 4" so will finish at 3.5" in the quilt. I am not using the cutting instructions as posted, but will just cut up scraps as they appear in my quilting room.

The second new project is one of the Blockheads patterns called Economy Path. I really enjoyed making this block and thought it would make a fun RSC project. These blocks are 3.5" and will measure 3" in the finished quilt.

I'm not sure I'll continue with both of these but have made a start and we'll see how it goes. Hop over to the weekly link up and see what other new projects have been started.

  1. Wow, these are very cute blocks. And so tiny! These quilts will be adorable.

  2. Funny, I have that same illness, “startitis”! I’ve resisted the past couple of weeks, but it came out yesterday and I want to start something else too! Glad I’m not the only one!

  3. Those will both be cute blocks to make quilts out of - or to add to the Parts Department. Either way, you’ve tamed some scraps. We all suffer, I think, from “startitis”!!

  4. I fell in love with Temecula Church Window Hexagon too, but I have resisted so far. You have made a lovely start on it. Enjoy! ;^)

  5. I like both of those blocks! I've been watching those Temecula posts, and thinking about making those donuts, too!

  6. I've made some red scrap donuts too. And the same as you I didn't use Temecula instructions but cut from scraps instead. I'm adding them as an RSC project. I like that Economy Path too. Hmmmmm...Startitis?

  7. Ha! I am sure we can all relate to that! I started two new ones this year with RSC. That pattern just hit me right. I am making one in green background and one in grey background. I hope not to start any more and catch a chronic illness of finishitis!

  8. So glad to see that you have found two great new quilt blocks to try. Nothing was ever finished without first being started.

  9. Each one fits the RSC very well. BTW, how many such projects do you currently have in the works?

  11. Resistance for you is futile! I have done ok at resisting the Temecula project. Idk, if another blogger shares them, I might cave.

  12. I love both projects. The funs are cute! I love Temecula QA's. I've done at least three of them.

  13. Mercy those are little blocks! Too bad they aren't both the same size as they would work nicely in a quilt together.

  14. I laughed out loud when I read the name of your disorder. I've had the same one for years, and apart from the occasional guilty feelings when there are so many abandoned or stalled starts, I am so happy to have been blessed with such a fun disease. I hope we continue to enjoy many more outbreaks.
