I have been doing lots of hand sewing for the "Save the Bees" BOM which is starting tomorrow. Here are my applique supplies ready to start stitching. I used both the white Bohin chalk pencil and the pink Frixion for marking on different colours of fabric. 
There are several little tiny pieces to applique that are not even as big as my thumb. They were quite fiddly and it was really challenging for me to get the curves to be round and not pointy.
It was a constant reminder that completion, NOT perfection, is the goal!
And there was some hand embroidery to do too. You might be able to guess what this is!

Your work looks great! One tip that made my applique easier was to fingerpress along the seam line before sewing it down. Can't wait for the first step tomorrow! Thanks for the reminder.

ReplyDeleteI had to stop work on my redwork for a bit to add sleeves to quilts for the upcoming fair. I'll get back to some handwork next weekend.
