But first I had to do all the prep work... find a backing (a piece of muslin that I had bought to make the swap blocks, but after washing it seemed too course and not high quality even though it was expensive), find a large enough piece of batting, and find some thread. Here is the pile of required elements ready to move on to the next step...pin basting.
Yay - can't wait to see how you quilt your beautiful broken dishes.
ReplyDeleteIf I don't respond to the inspiration right away, it is forgotten an hour or 10 minute later.
ReplyDeleteFollow your heart. The Broken Dishes is so pretty! !
ReplyDeleteIsn't it annoying when your inspiration is NOT on the project that most needs to get finished? Sigh. That's when I have to remind myself that it's my hobby and I can quilt whatever I want to. And I understand how you feel about a coarse muslin. Sometimes it's just the right thing, other times, maybe not!
ReplyDeleteI really like the scrappy navy sashing idea for your star blocks. It ties them together really nicely, and blue is just a great color with stars, don't you think? :)
When your muse calls, go with her! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Red Broken Dishes!
