Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to the weekly link up of hand stitched projects!

I am doing my favourite type of hand stitching today - binding. I recently finished the quilting on a Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilt called "Tied Up in Knots" and have been enjoying hand stitching this colourful striped binding.

It must be the week for binding...my friend Debby is also hand stitching a binding on a quilt-as-you-go project. Part of her binding is made of satin so it will be an extra cuddly quilt.

And my sister is also hand stitching a binding on a baby boy quilt. She uses the binding clips that resemble hair clips and her stitches are microscopic.

Are you doing any binding this week?!?
If you have a hand stitching project that you would like to show us, link up your blog post below. We hope that whatever you are stitching today will be relaxing and fun! Enjoy!

  6. That backing on Debby's quilt.... Memories. I used that in a quilt for my niece when she was little. She graduated college last weekend.

  7. That binding fabric is so appropriate for a Rainbow quilt, Kathy. I'm pretty sure your stitches are microscopic too.

  8. Fabulous choice for your binding! How neat that you and your sister stitch! And to have a friend who stitches as well completes the joy! I'm working on my much neglected GFA and a yo-yo quilt today....well...actually most of the week. Slow stitching is my therapy so it's all I've been doing lately! :)

  9. I have to admit, I am not a big fan of binding. I love when it is done, but I do not enjoy doing it.

  11. I finished binding a charity quilt last night. I'm one of those folks who really enjoy sewing that binding down. It just makes me happy. Today I'll be joining in on the hand stitching by working on some needle turn applique for my Roseville Album quilt.

  12. I enjoy binding... fun that you and your family/friends are all binding this week too :) Enjoy a happy ending today if you finish and they do too... thanks for the linky party... I love Sundays as a day to reflect on all that I have accomplished in a week and this week was way more productive quilt wise than I expected it to be when I sat down to write my post! lol Kathi

  13. I finished sewing the binding on my H2H quilt for Sarah at 'Confessions of a Fabric Addict' earlier this week. Now all I have to do is figure out how to load the photo to Instagram so I can add it to the linky for H2H finishes. No hand sewing for me today, but I will be at the machine working on RSC projects and a quilt from a class I took yesterday. Cloudy and cool outside so the gardening will have to wait.
