Oh, I love your quilt. I have saved many scraps that small but haven't sewn them yet. I think my sewing machine might eat them instead of feeding them through. Now I am inclined to give it a try. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but you are insane. That said,Your quilt is amazing. I'd love a chance at one of those sweet mini rugs.
This week I made a few more light green blocks for my RSC Omigosh. This has been a multiyear project and uses all the tiniest scraps from my sewing adventures.
I still have a few unfinished purple blocks from last month, so that's what I am sewing today.
So many people have commented that 1" pieces are toooo small for stress-free sewing, and if you prefer to sew with larger pieces, you could still make the Omigosh pattern using larger blocks. My friend Helen made her Omigosh quilt using 1.5" pieces and look at her amazing quilt! She calls it something like "Oh well... whatever"! LOL
To see what other quilters are sewing with their green scraps, hop over to the RSC link up.
Too bad Max can’t present the prizes in person! He’s so cute! Those small pieces are insane but we all know our sewing projects keep us sane, rather than sending us over the edge! Take care.
ReplyDeleteOmigosh is amazing, even in biggie sized blocks. The tiny size is so very addicting though.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners!!!
ReplyDeleteYour green omigosh blocks are looking great together.
Insane or sane let's quilt.
I know a lady who stitched all her blocks by hand. She didn't use a machine until she started putting the blocks together. Her hubby didn't know about the quilt, since he never saw her stitching on it.
ReplyDeleteI want to make one too....I would EPP it. As soon as my Jacks Chain is done, this is next on my list......I thing, lol. yours is making up so prettily.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of using 1.5" pieces - I've done several quilts with those and loved them. Hmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteThese scrappy quilts always amaze me...they are so beautiful and colourful!!
ReplyDeleteeach time you show OMG I say I have to add this quilt to my list to be made for sure - you are enabling me
ReplyDeleteI love your Omigosh blocks - they are so pretty in green! I would enjoy making the blocks for an Omigosh quilt, but I wonder if I could ever finish it!
ReplyDeleteThe green blocks look great; I love this pattern! I have a host of 9-patches made with 1.5" squares, maybe this is how I'll use them!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the winners. Love your progress on OMG - I did a full size quilt with the smallest pieces and it was priceless. Encouraging someone to try it a little larger is great advice - this is a stunning pattern.
ReplyDeleteI love the Omigosh. Attempted it once, plan to try again someday!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that are great tiny blocks!! I love them and this color is just perfect!!
ReplyDeleteThose blocks look so good in green. Great for St. Patrick's Day. After your tiny blocks, those 1.5 inch blocks look practically lazy in comparison!
ReplyDeleteCutest puppy dog! I have Omigosh on my list for 2018 what a joke! Maybe now!
ReplyDeleteEvery time you show your blocks, you nudge me just a bit closer to starting one of my own... Teetering on the brink...
ReplyDeleteThe only thing holding me back at this point is that this one just got edged out by an equally silly project!
You are right...the 1.5 pieces make for a striking quilt as well! Now 1.5 inch pieces I can work with. As always...you've inspired!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty - the bigger (can you really call 1.5 big?) quilt is very pretty too. Such a taste of spring blooms in your OMG. I am seeing lots of those bright greens sprouting out on trees right now.
ReplyDeleteLOL Tink's Mom " Please don't take this the wrong way, but you are insane"
ReplyDeleteI have often thought this myself! :) How you deal with so many tiny pieces just blows me away :)
Oh wow. The larger OMG is wonderful too. And that's more my pay grade.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have an amazing OMG quilt one day!
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks!
