Major progress was made with the red scraps this week. I finished another Mad City Mama block (pattern from Bonnie Hunter's book Adventures with Leaders and Enders).
Red was a fun colour to play with and I had many prints with little graphics that I could fussy cut.
As soon as I took the photo, I could see that I forgot one of the light triangle corners. But it was easy to add in, and voila... here are the 8 blocks on the design wall.
WOW that's a lot of scraps!
Only one more block to go.
What colour should I add?
Brown?
Gold?
Grey?
Lime green?

A black and grey block in the centre could look good or a tan and light brown could also look good in the centre. Or would you consider a rainbow block to go centre stage?
ReplyDeleteI like the lime green thought. Beautiful blocks!
ReplyDeleteWow! You must be all out of scraps by now!! LOL 😂. I am partial to lime green for the last block.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these Mad City Mama blocks! Oodles of scrappy goodness!
ReplyDeleteI vote for black & grey for the final block (or what about white/cream/beige?)
These blocks are for sure a scrap buster. They will make an interesting quilt. Very well done Kathy!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking lime greens! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThose blocks make me so happy! I vote for lime green.
ReplyDeleteI think lime green would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteLime, lime green of course....can't see you doing any other colour!
ReplyDeleteI vote for either gold or lime green. Lots of fun scraps in there!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great scrappy block! Lime green would definitely add some zing!
ReplyDeleteFantastic block choice for an RSC quilt!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to see lime green! I notice from reading the other comments that this is a favorite. Take some of the greens from the other green block and build on those. Gold would be okay except you have an orange and a yellow. You have 2 blues and 2 red/pinks and a purple center. The grey and brown and tan would not be right with the other bright colors. Just my opinion:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful set of blocks...you do have quite interesting projects! I can see either gold or lime green...but I could also see a green-blue block with extra emphasis on the green.
ReplyDeleteI am very impressed. Those blocks look fabulous. I would have never thought they could have looked so good. You know how to use your fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThose are such amazing blocks, Kathy! I'm with the lime green people! Have fun deciding!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that looks great... now I wish I had joined in :) xx
ReplyDeleteLime Green!
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are great! I love all the color!!!
I agree that lime green is the next color.
ReplyDeleteIt's got to be lime green! Great scrap busting project.
ReplyDeleteIf you have 4 more center squares, then make 4 more blocks, and have a 12 block quilt instead of a 9 block quilt.
ReplyDeleteI vote lime green, too!
ReplyDeleteYou are the scrap quilt queen!!
Ooh, I love the idea of black/grey in the center.
ReplyDeleteI go with the lime green contingent. It would add spark.
ReplyDeleteCan't argue with lime green - and it's not even one of my favorite colors! Beautiful blocks, no matter what color you choose!
ReplyDeleteLime green to make it pop.
ReplyDeleteOh, Kathy, I love your rainbow blocks! I agree, lime green would be a great color to add!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of another bright green block with your pretty Big City Mama blocks.
ReplyDeleteI will be different and vote chocolate browns
ReplyDeleteI would add a grey block
