Design Wall Monday

It has been totally manageable so far to keep up with Bonnie Hunter's EnProvence mystery quilt since I am only making half of the required blocks for each step posted. These are my blocks for step #4. I didn't have enough of my dark blue fabric (which is purple in the directions) so I added in a small piece of fabric leftover from a quilt I made last year called "Under The Sea". It's the dark blue in the second column of blocks and it mixed in well with the other fabrics.
Have I mentioned lately how much I love the TriRecs rulers? These blocks hardly needed any trimming down at all.
I enjoyed a relaxing sewing session while watching Bonnie's QuiltCam.  You can see that I have my hourglass leader/ender pieces for a new Clarissa block sitting on the bed of the sewing machine just waiting to be put through at the beginning or ending of a chain of blocks.
To see more posts for step #4 of the mystery project, hop over to Quiltville's link up. And to see more design wall postings, visit Patchwork Times.

  1. I don't share your love of this ruler. I've been putting off starting clue #4.

  2. I never seem to have enough of specific color groupings to make her quilts. I will wait until this one is done before I decide if I will make it as I would probably need to get some fat quarters to help get enough colors.

  3. I'm saving the clues until the end too--I have several unfinished Bonnie mysteries already--haha! Good for you for keeping up! I need to get something together for leaders and enders. After doing it that way for so long, it seems like such a missed opportunity not to have something handy to run through the machine.

  4. You almost make me wish I had joined in, but I emphasize the "almost". I will not make another Bonnie mystery (which I never start until after the reveal anyway), until I actually finish Easy Street! : )

  5. Even only doing half the blocks is still a lot of blocks!
I'm looking forward to the next Clarissa! (I still have no plan for my hourglasses...)

  7. I really like your Clarissa blocks! I found the tri-recs really good once I got the hang of it.

  8. I'm happy to see somebody is keeping up! I have fallen behind. None of my Clues are completed so far. I'm waiting to hit it with GUSTO in 2017. Christmas and a New baby have me too excited to get it done right now. I love how you quilted your Trees in the Header.

  9. I only had good luck with the tri rec rulers after making the fabric cuts 1/4" bigger. Oh well, it worked for me! I am enjoying the mystery.

  10. I agree, the TriRecs are da bomb. Whoever designed that little snip out was a genius. They line up perfectly.

  11. I love that you are using blues instead of purples! I actually had blues pulled for this project and then changed my mind. I may regret that :*)

  12. I am making the full En Provence and I am behind!?! :(
I am hoping to get a bit of cutting done in the next few days and if I am lucky maybe some sewing. I am already for Christmas just waiting for daughter to come home on Saturday!

  14. Very pretty blues. You've done well on keeping up. Maybe this one won't end up in the UFO pile?
