It's Mystery Time!
Bonnie Hunter posted the fabric requirements of the new mystery quilt this morning! Click here to read all about the next quilt I'll be starting with Bonnie and thousands of other quilters around the world.
I have been working diligently on getting last year's mystery quilt finished before the new one starts... well, the quilt top at least.
This quilt has fifty 12" blocks to sew together in diagonal rows with a lot of seam matching requiring the use of pins. I'm not a fan of pins, but there is just no other way to get all these seams to match up. But this is one of the things I really enjoy about Bonnie's quilts - complex blocks with lots of small pieces which make an interesting pattern. So I'm not complaining... just working hard!
Are you joining the mystery fun this year with En Provence?
Oh thank goodness. I was thinking you had already pulled your fabric! I am at this stage with a quilt I am working on as well. Keep at it. You'll be done before you know it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I have to jump over to Bonnie and read more. I hope to take part in her mystery this year. I just finished a quilt I've been working on this year. I love France, and look forward to this new mystery.
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo! I'm going to go check it out!
ReplyDeleteNot my normal colors, but it has been a while since I did a BH mystery - let's work outside the box. I will have to do some fabric shopping though - to fill in the bare spots. Shucks
ReplyDeleteNope - I don't do mystery quilts I like to know what the pattern is before I start a quilt. I don't care for the color selections on this one that she showed today on her blog.
ReplyDeleteWill you be doing the full size this year, or a smaller version?
ReplyDeleteOhhh, fun colors, but I don't think I'll join, but I've been to provence when I was a teenager with art school, I could kick myself for not buying a skirt or fabric there.
ReplyDeleteYou KNOW I am! LOL Ala patriotic color scheme.
ReplyDeleteGosh darn it! I love these colors.... might have to figure out how to squeeze this one in after sitting out last years.
ReplyDeleteKeep going! Hoping to be there at the start with you.
ReplyDeleteI clicked over to see, and was dismayed at the number of ads popping up and on every photo! Good grief. I grabbed the printable version and ran. But I like the colors, will have to see if I have those. I have not done a BH Mystery up to now.
ReplyDeleteI am! I was fully intending to change up the colors this year but now that I've seen Bonnie's inspiration pics I am not sure I can! I need to put the pedal to the metal on Allietare - I have all the blocks finished but have not put them together. I know what I will be working on this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI picked up the paint samples today. I can't wait. I hope to get Allietare quilted before the new one starts.
ReplyDeleteOH YES! Got my Allietare done in the nick of Time. I picked up my color cards today and a few extra, so I'm ready and waiting for the 1st Clue. Good to see you making progress on yours.
ReplyDeleteI have been saying "no way" to doing the mystery this year. It's usually my busy time as a longarm quilter. Then Bonnie gets started and I can't seem to resist!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely in!! Who could resist "Mardi Gras" colors with fuchsia thrown in! Not this girl!! Hubby went to Lowe's yesterday and got the color cards for me and when he got home to give them to me, he realized the checkout girl didn't put them in his bag! Insert frowny face here.
ReplyDeleteYes. I said I wouldn't, but it's like trying to stem the tide. ;)
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting your last years mystery done and have fun with the new one. I'm not joining you as my life is too crazy as it is.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on getting Allietare all finished up. I've been mulling over color combinations for this year's mystery. Haven't picked my fabrics yet, but I'll be ready when Bonnie goes live with the first clue.
