I have been working on my next Life Is Beautiful block and have made progress on the multitude of circles in this block. Today I will be outlining the creature (is it a ladybug?) and stitching the words. This is block 27 of 32 applique blocks, so I am starting to see the finish line on this step of the project (you can see the first 13 applique blocks on the design wall here).What are you hand stitching today? Sweet video and yet another pretty embroidery block ! I don't want to feel TOO too slow just yet, lol...I have to mow some grass this morning before it gets too hot later on.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing such a beautiful video Kathy! It brought tears to my eyes as I thought of my own children all grown up now and raising their own little treasures. Rather than slowing down however, I think children grow up much faster today than they did when my children were growing up. Such a shame! Your Life is Beautiful blocks are coming along so well! That almost looks like a caterpillar to me :*)

I love what everyone is linking so I am off to go visit now and maybe I will post a link later... but most probably next week for slow stitching progress... I have been doing a bit of hand sewing hems on curtains but that has been all until today! lol Now I am done with that and back to making progress on this bohemoth project! ha :D Kathi

ReplyDeleteYou just wanted to make me cry, didn't you? That was a tender video. Even though he is 31, DS#1 moved out of our valley yesterday and I found it kind of heart wrenching. He hasn't lived at home for many years, but has been near enough to come to Sunday dinner and attend a nephew's soccer game, or a niece's dance recital.

I'm constantly wishing I could slow time, my son's 18 now and I'm just holding my breath for the day to come :( I can't bear to think about it, so I'm off to sew something (his feet to the floor?!?!?). It's amazing how far you've come with these blocks already Kathy - each and everyone's so beautifully stitched, I'm looking forward to the next stage :)
