Scrappy Saturday

I have been working through a big bag of scraps that my guild friend Cindy recently donated to my worth cause. Why are someone else's scraps way more interesting than our own? I don't know why that is since I purchased all my own fabric scraps, but I like hers better!

First thing I did was pull out all the orange scraps, sewed one Maverick star block (love that centre glasses fabric which I pieced together) and I have started sewing the parts for the next Mad City Mama block.

To see more orange projects, hop over to SoScrappy.

  1. Great blocks. That Mad City Mama block is using all your scraps in different colours. And isn't it funny that other's scraps are more interesting than your own? Think it may be because you always find surprising pieces in other's scraps.

  4. The problem with our own scraps is we have used and seen them in 20 projects - fresh scraps from someone else is like new fabric!!

  8. I think that by the time our own fabrics make it into the scrap bin, they aren't novel anymore. Having something new to look at is always so much fun!

  12. Boohoo. I wouldn't know if someone else's scraps are more interesting than my own. But I like what I see in that pile and what you've sewn into Mama.

  15. Oooohhh, you got some good orange fabric to work with. It's always fun to have fabrics that you wouldn't normally buy. I have a quilting friend who helps me pick out sale fabric.
