On the design wall today are 25 of the 44 blocks I've sewn for the Scrap Dance Tango mystery quilt.
They are not in any particular order... just randomly placed on the wall for a photo. It's a lot of red and green. I think I need to add more blue and purple so it doesn't look so much like a Christmas quilt.

Lovely - yes, some blues and purples are needed.
ReplyDeleteAnd what, pray tell, is wrong with a Christmas quilt? : )
ReplyDeleteOh that's a great block Kathy! You can find lots of different patterns in it, can't you? It may have lots of red and green, but it doesn't feel overly Christmasy to me, I think it's got a lovely autumnal feel :)
ReplyDeleteChristmas-y is good in my book! I'm a sucker for a red and green quilt. Of course, adding more blue and purple will work well, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat scrap quilt! I don't think it looks too Christmas-y
ReplyDeletepurple, orange, yellow and lime green that will keep it from looking too Christmasy!!
ReplyDeleteRed and green are great colors! Don't discriminate against them :)
ReplyDeleteLooking good!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great scrappy block! You might want to lighten them up with a few zingers -- orange, lime green, or dark orange and olive green in this case. What my eye keeps going to are the dark triangle/dark square/dark triangle where all the darks are the same value.
ReplyDeleteI really like your Scrap Dance Tango blocks! They will make a wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather do this kind of Tango any day! Looking great in spite of the Reds and greens.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the final reveal. Your blocks look great up on the wall.
