Slow Sunday Stitching

It's Sunday!
RELAX
The day of rest, relaxation, recuperation, and renewal.
Relaxation doesn't happen by reading about it, thinking about it, or hoping for it.
It only happens by doing it!
And what better way to relax than to do some stitching. You will be amazed at how much time passes while you're "in the zone" of relaxing stitching.

I will be putting some stitches in my Life is Beautiful embroidery project today. This is the house block I am working on, and have just begun stitching the trees.  I have prepared a few more blocks to work on and am eager to get at them, but must finish the house first.
We had such wonderful links to visit last week, and I hope you enjoyed the wide range of projects that were shared.
As part of the Slow Sunday Stitching community of readers I invite you to leave an encouraging comment to the bloggers who take the time to share with us each week.
What are your hands stitching today?

  1. I'm always hand stitching my La Passion. I have to pass a new hundred every week to get it done in time for the exhibition.

  3. I am hoping to do some hand quilting on my wool applique squirrel project today. It has been ignored while I do Christmas sewing. I am glad to see you are back to your Life is Beautiful blocks. I was just thinking the other day that we had not seen them for a while...

  5. I just logged on to my blog this am and I can't believe my last post was Dec6th. The rush of the holidays and a vacation after Thanksgiving really got me off track. Definitely need some slow stitching today.

  6. I'm anxious to see some of the blocks of Life Is Beautiful. For some reason I'm really into houses right now. Even though this may be the only house in the whole quilt, I like this style.

  8. Kathy, I so appreciate the call to 'slow down' on Sundays with some handwork! It really does cause me to intentionally do just that! Your Life is Beautiful project is really quite the perfect stitching for Sunday! :)

  11. The weather is wet and dreary today but it sure is nice and cozy inside. A perfect day to spend inside while doing hand work and taking some time for contemplation and reflection.

  12. I shall be stitching binding onto a set of rescued placemats, possibly stitching my Quilty 365 circles, and generally tidying my studio . . . we have sunshine today (after several days of dreary) which makes everything seem so much better.

  13. It's a hectic world out there. If more people relaxed with a little slow stitching what a wonderful world it would be. (Wishful thinking while stitching).

  16. I like your Life is Beautiful this week. The block I was working on confused me a little! There is a cow head on top of a globe. Weird.
