Oh dear.
A new project is coming on.
It's a Barbara Brackman historical project, and it's called Westering Women.
I'm in.
Was there ever a doubt about my ability to resist this one?!? Don't even mention that I haven't finished the Votes for Women quilt. In my own defence, I must mention that I did complete my Civil War quilt!
I'm digging through my reproduction stash to see what colour ranges I'm missing. I have one week to sort myself out before the first block is posted.
Are you heading west with the rest of us quiltin' ladies?!?
You bet I am. I finished the Votes for women quilt and gifted it to my daughter but I haven't finished the Austen family album but hay what's another start between friends. I don't have any reproduction stash but I am going away this weekend and it involves visits to two of my favourite quilt shops so that will resolve that problem.
ReplyDeleteI am in too!
ReplyDeleteI am waiting to see what Barbara B.'s quilt looks like - I assume there is a photo - or well she be just posting the blocks one at a time and see it all at the end? I have a lot of fabric to use up :) don't we all - so it might be a way to get rid of some of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try to resist, but I'm very weak!
ReplyDeleteI'm headed west too!
ReplyDeleteI already live in the west, thanks! I HAVE to have a reason NOT to start this. : )
ReplyDeleteI'll enjoy watching you have fun playing with this one :). New starts are so much fun! For me, it's the closest I get these days to how I felt as a child playing a new game or starting a new jigsaw puzzle. Enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Kathy! I am sitting this one out this year as I just finished Barbara's Stars In a Time Warp QAL in 2015. But this looks really interesting and I will be following Barbara's posts and everyone's progress on this one. Look forward to seeing your work!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I knew I shouldn’t have clicked on that link! How hard can it be to do one block a month? I love all her history that she tells along with the blocks she does. i just might have to join this one.
ReplyDeleteI have my tub of CW and repro's ready for this one.
ReplyDeleteStill sitting on the fence. One block a month might be ok until I look at all my ufos.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching to see her blocks and read the history that she shares. I have plenty of CW fabrics to make blocks if I decide to join in.
ReplyDeleteBarbara's quilt alongs are hard to resist and that one looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteQuilting along with Barbara Brackman is like a college level history class, imo. As a history lover, I'm definitely in! I'm looking my stash over as well.
