Design Wall Monday

The big reveal of the layout for Allietare was posted on New Years Eve, but I haven't had much time to work on my blocks yet. It is a 2 block quilt, and I did get a start on the "Echoes of Pisa" blocks.

The quilt needs 20 of these blocks and I wasn't sure that I had enough red scraps left to cut the centre squares. I decided to use up a few of the smaller scraps to piece some 4 patch blocks for some of the centres.
To see how other quilters are progressing with their mystery quilts, hop over to the Quiltville blog. And to see more design wall posts, hop over to Patchwork Times.

  2. I don't jump into mystery quilts. I guess I'm too much of a control person, but I don't want to spend my time sewing something I dislike. That happens too often the way it is. Anyway, I love this quilt and will definitely be making it someday.

I've seen some people are strip piecing the center with leftover scraps and some are fussy cutting fabrics and making fancy centers. No matter how the center is made, they are going to all be lovely! Blessings, Gretchen

  7. I just saw the quilt this weekend I think when it was revealed - it looks good, I don't do mystery quilts I always have to see what a quilt will look like first before I devote time to it.

  8. I'm still making the Allietare' Star Blocks. I didn't think of using a pieced center. I just used up the Fay Q's I purchased for this Mystery. Not much left of them now. I love how these tile blocks look on-point. Keep on Stitching!
