What am I sewing with my scraps this week?
Mostly I am making blocks from the scraps being generated from the Quiltville mystery. We are working on step #4, and this is the first block I put together.
Hey, it's Santa!
Only guess what?
I sewed the blocks together wrong. Ugh. I was so excited about my blocks looking like Santa, that I sewed 4 sets wrong before I realized the problem. Today I will be unsewing those Santa blocks and this time I'll be sewing them according to the directions.
And with the tiny scraps from the mystery blocks, I have been sewing double nine patches for Omigosh. Here are the newest 4 blocks.

More adorable baby nines! Glad you figured out that you were sewing the mystery blocks wrong before you got any further. Unsewing in the least fun of all sewing.
ReplyDeleteClue 4 is a tricky one, I'm working on it now, but have the instructions SO many times!
ReplyDeleteglad you caught the mistake! for the first clue, I made HSTs that were FINISHED at 2", not CUT at 2". lots of trimming for me! yuck!

ReplyDeleteYou had me scratching my head. MY blocks don't look like Santa!!! Glad you caught it so quickly!! (But they were sew cute!)
ReplyDeleteIt's never any fun ripping out stitches and it seems a bit sad to have to take Santa apart :(

Good for you -- mystery quilt blocks coming along (well 1 step forward after a step or two back -- eeek!) And little blocks too. Amazing.

ReplyDeleteYour little Santa is just the cutest ever. I need to give him a try. I have just made 60 napkins with little quilted strips going across them and have mailed them all. ReplyDeleteCrazy, you got a bit mixed up there sewing your Headless geese together. Good to laugh about it! I had to do some un-sewing last night on some Christmas gifts. Not from a Boo Boo, just making a change.
