On my design wall today are the Civil War print bowtie blocks from Barb's block swap. There is such a wide variety of prints in these blocks that I received from the swap, and none of them are the fabrics I have in my stash. How can that be possible?!?
I like this circular layout because I haven't made one of these yet. You can see some of the other bowtie quilts I have made here.
I plan to make a few more of these blocks to be able to make a lap sized quilt and this will be a project to work on over the winter.

Love the blocks and the setting!
ReplyDeleteWonderful layout....... You will enjoy this quilt........
ReplyDeletelove bowties and once made a queen size with them - they are fun to make
ReplyDeleteI really like this layout Kathy! The bowtie is so versatile, and a swap would be the best way to make it beautifully scrappy like yours :*)
ReplyDeleteI like the layout, too. Yours is the second bow tie WIP I've seen in the past two days. Maybe that will be my next L&E . . .
ReplyDeleteNice blocks and I like this layout a lot.
ReplyDeleteI do think it is amazing that not one of the fabrics was something you had in your own stash. How fun to get to play with these.
ReplyDeleteThose look great.
ReplyDeleteDidn't realize you had been so busy with bow ties! I have made one bow tie mini--ever!
ReplyDeleteI'll forever think of you as bow tie Kathy, now. But I can't believe you could give away that plaid mini--and not to me! *LOL*
Your blocks look fabulous and will make into a wonderful! quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific swap this was, next time I will have to join in.
Looking forward to seeing your finished quilt.
That's my favorite setting for bow ties--love it!
ReplyDeleteWhy does this seem like I've never seen this layout? I've done 4 blocks laid out in circle and then sewn together but I don't think I've ever done the whole quilt this way. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteI made my older son a bowtie quilt and did fabric swaps with people from my guild. I ended up with 180 different fabrics.
ReplyDeleteFun! Diagonal settings always catch the eye!
ReplyDeleteThe CW fabrics look good with that Bowtie setting. I like the 9-patch version that Bonnie shared after her L/E Challenge. It broke up the continuous circles in a different way. Mine still isn't quilted, so you 14 year quilt is still the winner.
