The first step is revealed on Friday morning, and I finally corralled all my fabrics. I am going totally "by the book" this time and using the colours that Bonnie recommends. My collection looks a little boring to me, but I know that Bonnie's patterns always have a million pieces and it will be anything but boring!
The black fabrics are from my civil war fabric scrapbox, the reds are leftover from Confluence, many of the golds are leftover from Angel Solstice, and the neutrals are just always kicking around here. The greys are all new. I couldn't pick just one grey as recommended, but they all "read" fairly similar in value.
I'm calling it good to go.
Two more sleeps!

Looks like you are all ready to go. Have fun! I hope it is going to be another great mystery quilt. I'm going to be good and finish up ongoing projects this year. Watching everyone else will be lots of fun though.
ReplyDeleteI'll watch you make yours this year. I'm going to try and finish off some projects instead.
ReplyDeleteYes I have to decide on the final line up too. I am following her colours except for the grey...I am thinking of putting in an emerald green instead. It will match the backing that I already have. Do you remember a story of a backing I made that was too small for the quilt...well it has a wine bottle theme and would be perfect fore Allietare!!!

ReplyDeletePretty collection. How many Bonnie Mysteries do you have in UFO status right now?
ReplyDeleteYou are so prepared. I will enjoy watching the process, as usual. : )
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to participate, but last week changed my mind. I just had to buy my grey and a few black fat quarters to pad my stash a bit.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a fun time to see the parts popping up in Blogland. Glad you're playing along. I'll wake up happy to start this Friday!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sewing but happily following some bloggers who are doing this - looking forward to seeing your progress :)
ReplyDeleteYour fabrics look lovely! i am not joining in this time around; with four big quilts in my near future for college bound grandchildren I have enough to do. BUT...(ahem) am downloading the instructions...ah...just in case, ya know!! hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteSo fun to follow along! I measured it all out to do half, but I've yet took shop my stash. I'm hoping I have enough of the proper colors. I'm having trouble coming up with my own alternative pull........
ReplyDeleteRemember Bonnie asked us not to post info on yardage and piece counts, etc. on our blogs. I am SEW excited to start another mystery...and will try to not give away the pattern on my blog--hahah!
ReplyDelete:)
I varied the colors just a bit. I'm using yardage again this year. It just works better for me.
