Finished Quilt!

Big announcement today... 
drum roll please.... 
the braid quilt is finished! This quilt has been "in progress" for about 15 years. And it has finally become a useable quilt.
Finished size: 57" x 72"
I machine quilted it on my domestic sewing machine in horizontal squiggly lines following the braids. Using this quilting design prevented lots of twisting and turning of the quilt, but still gives it the zig zag effect.
I extended the quilting lines across the border right to the edge of the quilt, so I didn't have to figure out another quilting design in the border. That was genius if I do say so myself!
The backing is just a boring piece of sale yardage pieced down the middle.

    This quilt is wonderful. Now don't you wonder why it took you 15 years (not that anyone would know that if you didn't tell them). Sometimes a simple quilt design is the best solution and that blue border really sets off the quilt perfectly.

    this has certainly been waiting patiently for you to finish it!! very nice and like the quilting, gives me an idea as I have my steps to the altar waiting to be done, no good at quilting so put it off, not a long as you though, I only made it a couple of months ago.A question, do you start the quilting in the middle, lots of books say to but then it must be difficult to join up in the centre
