Who knew there were that many Russian quilters wanting to read about Canadian quilting?!?
I think the Russian quilters are having a 'rebound' of quilting, like we American's did, after our bicentennial. Freedom and the internet help creativity flow, like never before.

ReplyDeleteMade me have to go check stats for my blog for the week, out of curiosity. My #2 country was Germany--even above Canada. That isn't normal--at least I don't think so.

How do you describe yourself as a quilter? A Canadian quilter? A hand-quilter? Something else? I suspect all those Russians (and us Americans) follow your blog because we love your work and the thoughts you share on quilting and life, not necessarily because you are a Canadian quilter.

ReplyDeleteWhen I seem to have a lot of traffic from certain places in the eastern hemisphere and am able to check out some of that traffic, it often comes from questionable sites rather than from quilters. That said, I hope your traffic is from quiters.

DeleteThere are a lot of quilters in Russia - I have visited quite a few bloggers there. But to be honest I think the vast majority of visits from Russia are spammers or robots.
ReplyDeleteLike Janet, I had to go check mine out of curiosity. Germany was #2, Russia #3 and then Canada was #4. Hopefully our Russian visitors are quilters. ;-)
