Goose on the Loose
Today is the annual Goose on the Loose shop hop. Actually the shop hop started yesterday, but my friend Louise and I are shop hopping today. We have participated annually for the last 10 years. Click here to read my report from last year. It is our treasured time to enjoy great conversation while we drive around to the quilt stores and see all the new tools and fabrics. It is so much fun and we have been looking forward to it.
I am happy to report that everything I bought on last year's hop, I have used! However, we won't mention that I haven't quite finished the shop hop feature quilt from last year... it's still a UFO. It got stalled with a block mistake, and there it has stayed in a box since last summer. See that star block on the bottom left? The inside of it is upside down and is still awaiting the seam ripper.
I sure do hope the Shop Hop doesn't have a project that I really like this year, so I don't start another UFO! Wish me luck!
Shop hops with friends are fun! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteVery envious of you being able to shop hop with a friend. Living up north there are not as many stores and they don't do shop hops. Have fun!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, we just might meet up on our travels, my girlfriend and I are hopping tomorrow.....we did 2 shops last night and the other 4 will be visited tomorrow....
ReplyDeletelast years feature quilt fabrics are still in the bag.....sigh....Claire
Well, I had not seen a project on any of the web sites, so I called one of the shops, the owners elected not to do a feature quilt this year...sigh, so we both have time to start/ fix/ finish them.....that really stinks, part of the fun was collecting the pieces for it....Claire
ReplyDeleteI have a few Shop HOP projects still in the BAGS, sadly. Our Shop Hop coming up in the FALL is giving away 2 1/2" strips. I got a sneak peek since I teach classes there. By the end we will have a Jelly Roll plus 4. We have one this week-end too, but I need a Shop Hop Buddy. Have a fun time. Try to buy just one type of fabrics that you really NEED to finish a project. It good to have a plan.
ReplyDeleteI never make the featured projects from the shop hops I have attended, so I have quit collecting them. Less guilt that way. : )
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time to get some new fabric! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHave fun on the hop!
