It has continued to be very cold here this week. This was in the local newspaper last Monday.... minus 34 degrees! We are keeping warm by quilting. Well, maybe that's not what everyone is doing, but that is what I am doing!
I have been sewing my blue and yellow log cabin blocks and have the first fews rows made.
I decided on the blue fabric for the setting triangles (thanks for all the suggestions and ideas on Monday's post). I used the chart on Bonnie Hunter's blog to determine the size of the setting triangles - click here to read her lesson on how to calculate the measurements.

I was just complaining to My Guy that I really didn't want to go to work because of the cold temps outside, I guess I should be happy that we are just a few degrees below freezing, not -34!

ReplyDeleteI don't think I want to go see what -34C translates to in Fahrenheit! Yikes, that's cold! We've had some cold weather, but it pales in comparison (of course, we're much further south).

ReplyDelete-34C!! OMG Are your feet ever warm??? Love yellow and blue. My first quilt class was a yellow and blue log cabin quilt as you go with thick poly batting! Your log cabin is SO much nicer! Love the little blocks. Love this setting.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing you are a quilter! Hopefully you have PILES of quilts to use in your -34 degree weather! I can't even imagine! I love, love, love your blue and yellow log cabin. It sure brings some sunshine into your frigid days.
ReplyDeleteCompared to that, it's positively balmy here at 24 degrees! We had some snow on Saturday, but warm temps yesterday melted all the streets and sidewalks. Much sewing happening here. Your quilt is going to be so sunny and happy and awesome!

In that cold, I'd be staying cuddled up in a quilt! You made the most of it getting to your stitching. Stitchery and patchwork quilt I saw in your previous post looks fun. That Vintage Machine made me Drool...and Gasp- Is it yours?
