I am sewing half of the units and managing to keep up fairly well so far.
Here are the step #4 blocks up on the design wall.
And of course I am clipping all the dog ears and putting them in a jar for... well, for fun, and for safe keeping. You never know when you might need a jar of dog ears!
I give my bags of cut offs to my grandsons school and childcares. They love them for the craft room. Then the teachers don't have to cut up fabrics

lovely fabric choices. About those dog ears I saw a gal who sprinkled them across a dark winter night fabric, held it down with a sheer...quilted wonderful swirly lines across it and then cut it up for Christmas postcards. Sew many ideas, sew little time.
ReplyDeleteI used my 4 shopping bags full of snippets - unusable size - to fill two floor pillows, that I pawned off on my married grandgirl this past weekend. Even at a tiny size they add up and have a purpose. I also save the snipped threads in the snippet bags, and the paper piecing mistakes. I save lots of things that do come in handy later. I get teased for being a hoarder, but I do supply a bunch of those teasers with boxes or bags that they need. (Cuts down on the teasing, for sure.) So I applaud you saving your snippets. You'll think of something to do with them.

ReplyDeleteMy Cascadia is still awaiting the border and finishing. I have to make another one in Christmas fabrics. I loved seeing it how Lori displayed hers. Nice to see your Clue 4's. I'll be finishing up mine instead of shopping Christmas Eve.
