It's probably not a good thing to post two days in a row about starting new projects, when September is half over, and I haven't even touched this month's UFO!!! However, Temecula has started a new alphabet sew along and I totally have to make this one because it will make a great baby quilt.
My plan is to use up bright scraps (hand dyed fabric from Vicki Welsh) for the letters on a black-dots-on-white background. FUN! The instructions are great and each block is fun to sew. Now... where is that UFO pile?!?!
Oh Kathy! That will make such a cute baby quilt - and the brights will be perfect to catch baby's interest!!!! I love starting on new projects - I would hate to think of the creativity wasted if I refused to follow an inspiration just because I was already working on something else!
Looks like you have a case of "start-itis". I hope it isn't contagious, because if it is, you just might have passed it along on the weekend. I wonder what the incubation period is......... LOL. Those fabrics that I bought Saturday evening are calling to me to start something......
I was so tempted, but just bought the little Moda alphabet pattern from Primitive Gatherings at the AQS show in Grand Rapids. Your letters are going to make a happy alphbet! Love the Marcus Brothers Designers Mystery blocks, too.
oh no, now you are going to make me want to start playing with letters again! These are a great start....don't forget to make some asterisks, I know how much you like them.
I am not doing the Temecula alphabet blocks but can totally understand the starting new projects and letting the UFO's slide!
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering about your September UFO today, just because you hadn't mentioned it yet!!
ReplyDeleteThose colors will be great in that cute quilt.
ReplyDeleteTwo new project starts...oh naughty girl...but fun!!! Good luck with the UFO for this month!!
ReplyDeleteAh, but it takes but a minute to sew those little alpha blocks - so it's OK and you still can get to the UFO.
ReplyDeleteNice brights for a fun quilt....

ReplyDeleteYou're tempting me again. I have a Wordplay quilt on my NewFO list for this month. Gotta finish 3 more projects then maybe I can start another...
ReplyDeleteIt is a tempting one, Kathy. I understand you succumbing--especially with those happy colors waiting for a home. : )
