Scrappy Rainbow Challenge - Purple Month

We are clearing out the purple scraps this month over at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge
Here are my first 9 Alamo Star blocks with some purplish scraps, and they are cute, cute, cute! I have more blocks cut and ready to use as leader/enders over the next two weeks.

I also started making a few of these scrappy star blocks just for fun. I just used the scraps that were sitting around, and am not sure if I will continue making more of these or not. Bonnie Hunter calls them Maverick Stars - to see the pattern click here.
To see more purple scraps being sewn this week, hop over to the linky party hosted by Angela.

  1. Lover your scrappy stars - Alamo and Maverick!
Is there only 2 weeks left to purple? Yikes, I have yet to truly play with my purple fabrics.

  6. I loved the month of teal scraps, but I admit that purple is my weakness! : )

  7. Love your purple Alamo stars - that is going to be a wonderful quilt!!! And isn't it fun to sometimes play with a block without having any commitment to "make" something bigger and more complicated? I am continually reminding myself that I can make my hobby as simple and easy - or as hard and complicated - as I choose, it's up to me!

  13. Hello,

Can someone help me? I have looked and looked for the pattern to the Alamo Star. I can not find it. I hate to be a baby at 71 years but would someone send me a copy to cut out the stars of give me a good link to the pattern? I tried to make up the pattern but it is a little off and the are not going together very well. Thank you,
