I've had a fun time sewing purple spool blocks as leader/enders, and so far this month have finished 36 spools. I am sewing them together in sets of 4, so I have 9 purple blocks to add to my growing collection.
And speaking of collections, I thought I should add a couple of purple Carrie Nation blocks to that block collection.
I must admit to getting bored with these blocks, but I will keep making a few here and there in order to make the quilt larger. Here are the blocks on the design wall.
Hmmm... I don't know why I skipped pink month with these blocks? I think it does need some pink and some orange, and maybe a bit more green. What do you think?
Hop over to SoScrappy to see more purple projects.
don't know what size this is, but it looks GREAT! I'd stop right there and finish it, and especially if you are tired of the blocks. even if it's Kid sized..... Now I have no ideas for a border. hmmm
ReplyDeleteYep, you need more of those colors in the Carrie Nation blocks. Love your little spool blocks - too cute!
ReplyDeleteThe spool blocks are a perfect leader ender project and finish up so quickly. Very nice. Your Carrie Nation block looks lovely just the way it is but making pink, orange and green blocks would definitely expand the size. Your choice - larger or done. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a great rainbow layout as it is, but if you need more, add more. I can imagine that making so many of the same block becomes tedious, so if you have enough for a crib, or a throw now's the time to start quilting. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteYour spool blocks are adorable. The rainbow quilt looks good. A little more color would be great.
ReplyDeleteOrange and pink(bright pink) would be great! I love the spool blocks. I had to make some for a block lottery and want to make more...yet another project I would like to start!!!
ReplyDeleteWow. Looks great. You have done so many blocks....
ReplyDeleteYou won't find a lot of purple in my stash so purple scraps would be at a premium in my scrap container.
ReplyDeleteA little at a time is a great way to accomplish bigger things!
ReplyDeleteLove your spools!!
Yes, some orange (I love orange!) and more green is a great idea. I've just noticed that some spools are very scrappy and I don't recall seeing that in the other colours. Love them.
ReplyDeleteI love the Carrie Nation blocks! They look so lovely together.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty spool blocks. That is a block I have tried yet. Working on Bonnie Hunter's Lozenge blocks for leader/enders right now. The Carrie Nation block might be getting boring for you , but the top is beautiful so far. I really like how you have it laid out
ReplyDeleteI love your Carrie Nation blocks together--what a wonderful colorful quilt it will be. And all those spool blocks, you've been busy!
ReplyDeleteTo quote kaffe Fassett "if in doubt add twenty more colours!" Well I don't know about twenty, but green definately and a bit of pink and orange would work great!
ReplyDeleteSeeing the Rainbow Carrie Nation all set out is a treat! I think she could definitely use a few more colors - don't discriminate against orange, pink & green! :-)
ReplyDeleteLovin' all the purple--Yumm! :
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be such a fun quilt of Carrie Nation blocks in all those colors. I think it only needs whatever would make you happy. It looks great to me! : )
First off, I have been admiring your header photo. It is spectacular! I love the Carrie Nation block, I bet there are a lot of great setting for them.
ReplyDeleteI could play with your purple scraps and be very happy. Glad you had a catch up day to make your Spools and Carrie Nation Blocks. I bet it feels good to get the scraps contained! I'm still working on some of my scraps and Bonus HST's.
ReplyDeletekeep making those blocks, it looks great! More is better
