Design Wall Monday - D4P

I finished sewing the remaining blocks for my Disappearing 4 Patch quilt. Now I am playing with layouts and auditioning border fabrics. Every time I walk by, I change the blocks around again! I wonder how long this will go on??!!
Hop on over to Patchwork Times to see more design wall postings... such great inspiration on a Monday morning!

  1. Fun blocks! Final block placement is always tricky, but I usually realize when I'm done. Something just settles.

  3. D4P is such a neat design idea.
People think it is so intricate. I've made 'em with skinny cuts and with wider ones. Your colorway is very cheerful!

  5. If you are anything like me, you could possibly play around with the arrangement for a very long time but isn't it fun!!

  7. I switch things around until they look worse than I thought they did when I started. I wish you more luck than that with your game. : )
I am really liking these blocks!

  8. I love it!! Looking at yours makes me want to do one of these. I even went so far as, a couple of days ago, grouping some fabrics I thought would work together into a box. Now, to find the time to do it. I'm determined to finish a couple more things before starting anything new.

  9. I like your quilt a lot. I've made 3 disappearing 4 patch quilts but they were all white backgrounds. All the blocks were different colors. This is a fun block to do but after as many as I've made, I don't plan on making any more anytime soon. Your backgrounds are wonderful and yes, I did the same thing. I put them on my design wall and played for a long time with them before sewing them all together. I can't wait to see your finished product to see what border you will put on....have fun!

  10. I know about that re-arranging! You just have to keep doing it until you 'know' it is 'right'! It is a little like a puzzle and I like puzzles. Love your color choices, it is going to be a great quilt! Have fun playing with your blocks.

  11. Switch them around - take a picture, then see where you need to move one or two. That's I do it. This one has busy fabrics so no matter where you stop and sew it, it will be cute!
