Slow Sunday Stitching

It has been a long time since I've needed some slow relaxing stitching time as much as I need it today! I am hand quilting the last block of my Journey of a Quilter, and will relish every single stitch I make today, while I watch athletes compete to be the fastest in the world. My goal is the opposite of that - I plan to win the gold medal for being the slowest hand quilter of all time! 7 years I've been working on this quilt - can you beat that today? Are you working on something older than that?
Isn't this a great block to work on?!
I am making wavy lines between the rows of words and really like how that is turning out.
What slow stitching are you enjoying today? I can't wait to see your hand stitching projects.

    I agree it's a good quote! I am working on a quilt that has been several years in the making, not sure how many though! Enjoy the Olympics

    Like the wavy line stitching. I started piecing the 1800 repro about 8 years ago, but the quilting part I just started thus year and hope to finish this spring. Looking forward to your reveal.

    When I started back to sewing /quilting Nov 2012 the sampler and Dresden that I worked on had been unfinished for close to 11 years :)

    I love your Journey quilt / as soon as you are done you can start a sequel! :)

    Hmmmm....I think the oldest one that I'm working on hand quilting is nearly three years ... so nope, you've got me beat! Go for the gold!!! :)

    I had a quilt that took ten years to finish, due to lack of knowledge, but it did get completed and started me on my quilting journey. I can't wait to see what you will hand quilt next!

    That saying is so, so true! Not a lot of hand stitching this weekend ... grandson's birthday today so we had the grandparents' party yesterday and will have the friend party today. But there will be a little time to watch some Olympics while doing some hand stitching!

    I love the quote on your quilt. I definitely have projects around here that are older than yours, but I am working on something that is less than a month old (and I'm still whining about how long it's taking ;-)

    I'll bet you are glad to be approaching the finish line. I have some UFOs that are old but I don't think I have anything that old. (Well at least I don't have anything that old in plain sight).

    Since I haven't been a quilter for a long time (about 3 years?) I only have a couple projects that are about a year old but hand quilting takes time I believe and these quilts will both be worth waiting for :) I love this last square you are working on.. what a one to choose as last too!     I like your block and the wavy line. I am working on a bunny table runner that I was doing for A craft show but I will probably not get it done in time. So I will either keep working on it and save for next year or turn it into a baby quilt to sell online. Either way I have hand quilting to do until my husbands quilt I am piecing is ready to be quilted.

    I probably have a hand quilting piece that is at least seven years old. But it is going to be a lot more time before I get back to it! I was hand stitching Sunday but working on a Pincushion.
