Design Wall Monday - Celtic Solstice A blocks
Here are the Celtic Solstice blocks that are finished so far. These are 20 of the needed 24 A blocks...
I think they make a striking pattern on their own.
I see that at least one block has issues with incorrect creative layout! Is there more than 1 block to be repaired? I tried so hard to sew them correctly but there's one in every crowd!
I have 4 more blocks to sew and then I can get going on the B blocks.

Your design wall looks terrific. I also think it makes a wonderful design on it's own.

ReplyDeleteYour colors are so striking, no one would notice the "creative layout"--except you. If it bothers you, it is good that you found it now, rather than later. And I admit that I would have fixed it, too. : )

ReplyDeleteI found that I really had to focus when putting these blocks together. I always listen to an audio book when in the sewing room and I had to turn it off until I got the first block done! It's very easy to turn that 4 patch the wrong way!!!!

OH pretty!! Yep, there are several in my quilt that got turned a little wrong...it is all OK!! Creativity!!

Great colours and love the layout...you could have two quilts if you want.But I have to say I do love this finished mystery. I might even do it one day!!
ReplyDeleteThere is only one block turned so it is an easy FIX. No Unsewing needed. It happens. Be sure to lay the blocks all oriented the same as you do the final setting. PIN, PIN PIN as you take each row to the Sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteMary's right....no need to unsew, just turn your block 90 degrees and your pinks will run in the right direction. Yeah! It's always good when you don't have to pull use Jack the Ripper :)
ReplyDeleteLove the blocks you've finished to date. I truly don't know how you do it! Good for you for getting this far along considering how busy the time before Christmas can be. I managed to downloaded the instructions for Celtic Solstice but that's as far as I got.
ReplyDeleteYum! Reminds me of chocolate with raspberry filling! Such delicious colors. I just finished 5 of Block #2 so I could lay some of each out to see the design emerge! I'm easily amused.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, to make just one of the blocks. But then I just had to see how my colors played together in both blocks. but now, maybe, I will concentrate on one .... and maybe not. ;-)

I had to really look to realize what quilt this is... I always expect the green/orange combo! Good for you for getting so much of it done. And, then on to the next block!

ReplyDeleteSo nice blocks. I had to study to find the creative block. And I did! You always see it better on a photo. I turned one of the star pionts in one of my blocks, and didn't see it before I put the picture on Facebook.
