Why?
I started this quilt in 2011 as a 2 colour blue and white quilt and almost bailed on it because I was bored. But I found some great brown fabrics in Vermont that breathed some new life into the blocks and I was hooked again.
Today this project is a pile of blocks. I hope to get them into a finished quilt top by the end of the month/year.
Is it doable?!?
I have all the fabric I need, including some unique Civil War specialty fabrics that I have found over the years.

I had wondered what became of your civil war blocks! Glad to see they are out of the cupboard to take their turn at the sewing machine. I won't be tackling any UFO's until the new year... I saw an interesting block of the month at Mad About patchwork that I thinking am going to do. I am already two months behind but hope to catch up in January . Happy sewing to you!

ReplyDeleteHow many blocks do you need to make? You have a very good start. And at least you started. I saved the blocks, then purchased the book but haven't made one thing. And I agree that the brown was a good choice for the quilt.

ReplyDeleteI used some of that Declaration of Independence fabric as the backing on my MIL's quilt that really needs to be finished.

you can and will do it! You have all the blogs made and the cutting out and making the blocks takes the most time so yes like jody says finish and cuddle under it on 31st
