Temecula's Countdown to Christmas

Are you keeping up with the Temecula mystery
The next step was posted and I am on it! My block doesn't look much like theirs, but I hope it is right. It was pretty challenging, but I managed to save most many of the star points and match up most some of the seams... don't look too closely!
Did you happen to notice that some of the fabric I am using in the Temecula blocks is leftover from the old Quiltville mystery UFO I am trying to finish up this month?

Deb challenged me to get the quilting finished on this quilt so I could hand stitch the binding for Slow Stitching Sunday.

I am pleased with how the free motion machine quilting is coming along, with only one thread snapping incident  so far. I might actually finish this quilt before the next Quiltville mystery starts next week!
And I might even beat Deb at her own challenge... woohoo!

  1. Love the Temecula mystery block. Good luck on finishing up the quilting on the UFO. Looks like you'll get that one off your list soon.

  2. Thread break, thread break, thread break! Just kidding. I hope you are successful in getting that one all quilted up over the next two days. I hope the kids will go out and play so I can start the quilting this afternoon and maybe try and finish it Saturday evening when G is picking up the kids.

  7. Your mystery block matched up a lot better than mine ! But I will love mine when it is done whether or not it matches. One has to accept one's limitations. LOL

  8. Your guess was pretty close too. Nice to see leftovers being used for fun Mysteries. Celtic Solstice starts in a week! You're gonna be done with the Orca Bay and READY set, SEW! Chilly out there - best time to stay in ans quilt.

  9. Since the Temecula people only said to make one block like this, I wonder what else it will involve with all of the other parts? Apparently this will be the center, don't you think?
Good luck on you quilting and binding. I never seem to be able to accomplish those tasks quickly.
