Here is the new Swoon on the design wall today, along with some of the spool blocks I am sewing with the scraps. Swoons are fun to sew... the worst part was cutting all the pieces.
I think I might rearrange those corner pieces with the large circles now that I see how it looks on the computer. I really like this block better than the yellow ones and am getting anxious to see all the blocks together.
I have decided to machine quilt these blocks using the "quilt-as-you-go technique" and look forward to some fun machine quilting!

I am anxious to see how you make out with the QAYG method.
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove your swoon block...pretty, pretty! Happy Monday!!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! I've yet to try the QAYG method. Sounds like a good idea. Looking forward to reading about your experience.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful. ~Melanie
ReplyDeleteAt our guild meeting last week someone showed a Swoon quilt. "Ah, Swoon!" said several of us. And just as quickly, several other people said, "What is Swoon?" Goes to show that when you think *everyone* knows about something, you have another think coming.
ReplyDeleteI do like your version!
I like your swoon blocks and especially the yellow ones..very happy looking!
ReplyDeleteYou are really dealing with extremes here! I like the eyes in the corners. : )
ReplyDeleteWow from 2" to 24". That's like night and day. I love the fabrics in your swoon block and spools. Terrific.
ReplyDeleteSwoon is looking good!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty swoon block, I wouldn't worry too much about the corner "circles". It probably won't show that much when the quilt is finished.
ReplyDeleteWonderful looking blocks. The spools look great with the swoon block. Do you paper piece the swoon block?
ReplyDeleteWill you fix the corners so they are all in the same direction? Having fun with your Black and whites with a bit of yellow today.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Swoon block. Looking forward to seeing this one come together.
ReplyDeleteYour greys with the yellow looks great. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour swoon block looks great! It really is a bit of a transition to work from such tiny bits to what seems like giant sized pieces. You certainly get a lot more done and quicker with the bigger pieces!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing Swoon blocks, another beauty! I was wondering if the placement of the print on those outer corners was accidental or well thought out plan!
