Scrappy Saturday

The new colour for the Rainbow Challenge Scrappers to work with this month is teal.  The first thing I do each month is sort through the scrap pile and here I am sorting the scraps from the blue bin and pulling out the ones that are teal.
Then I sort them into piles:
*any batiks for Alamo Stars, *small pieces around 1.5" for spools
*1.5" and 2.5" for Carrie Nation blocks,
*larger scraps for the paper pieced Palm Branch blocks (I missed making the yellow one - must get that done) and  *"other" for crumb blocks.

I like to start out the month having a stack of leader/
ender pieces ready to sew when I am working on any of my other projects. Here are the pieces I have cut out this week that will become Alamo stars over the next few weeks.
To see the projects that other quilters are making with their teal scraps, hop over to SoScrappy.

  1. Great group of teal fabrics to play with. Looking forward to seeing the blocks you create with them.

  2. You are so organized - that really inspires me to work harder at being prepared! I love going through the scrap bin at the first of the month and seeing what I have and what will work for my different blocks. I love aqua/teals, so this month will be really fun for me!!!

  3. You are TOO organized. I barely can manage to get to the sewing room never mind sewing more than one thing!!! Very impressed!!

Love blue and teal, I have lots of blues!!

  4. Teal and turquoise are such beautiful colors. Remind me of the ocean. I separated my turquoise, aqua and teal scraps from my blue scraps last year and have been happy with the arrangement. I'm a little behind this month but hope to make something to post tomorrow.
