Design Wall Monday - finished quilt top

This is the project that is on my design wall today. It is the finished quilt top from the Layer Cake mystery over at Aunt Reen's Place
I sewed the blocks together randomly, so the layout of the colours is not as well balanced as it might have been, but it was
a fun project to sew.
The quilt top is so much larger than my design wall, I had to tape it to the clock on the wall for the photo!
This quilt will be for one of the wedding gifts I need this summer. I already have some ideas for the machine quilting.
In the month of June, there will be a Jelly Roll Quilt Along if you want to start a new project! It is suitable for beginners, and is a great scrap project.

  4. This quilt is lovely. I immediately started thinking of different ways to quilt it so am looking forward to seeing what you come up with. AND, I am going to do the Jelly Roll Quilt Along. I have a JR that has just been sitting there (gift) and it needs to get ready to find a new home.

  8. I didn't realize this was such a large top. Funny how we get such a misconstrued perspective on things through photos. I think I was envisioning this as a mini. : )
Looks good--will make a wonderful wedding gift!
