Subscription and April UFO

Gail requested that I add the email subscription option to my blog, which I was able to figure out how to do. The new subscription box is on the right sidebar if you want to try it out, although I admit that I don't really know what it means! I think if you subscribe then you will get my blog updates in your email inbox?  I usually struggle to stay up to date with reading my own email, so personally I wouldn't want blog updates in my inbox, but if that sounds like something you would enjoy, sign up and let me know how it works.
I have been reviewing my list of UFO's and have decided to make my April UFO goal to sew together my "Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll" mystery blocks. They haven't been worked on in almost 2 years because I really couldn't find a way to make the top into something I like. The fabrics and blocks have been sitting in a pile for one whole year. But no longer! These blocks have finally communicated with me, and we have come to some agreements.... no string pieced units, on pointe layout, with sashing, and possibly cornerstones.
By the end of April, they will be a finished quilt top!

  1. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out. This quilt is one of my favourites and I use it on my bed.

  2. Such pretty fabrics and blocks! I think an on point setting with sashing and cornerstones will look wonderful. Good luck with your goals.
Yes, e-mail subscription will send an e-mail of new posts to your inbox.

  3. I can't wait to see your quilt come to life. I have vowed to always have a Bonnie Hunter quilt on my list. Right now it is Cheddar Bow Ties, next up is Double Delight. Roll ROll may be on deck, I just love it.

  6. I know how you feel, I don't like getting blog updates in my email either for the same reason, but there are a couple of blogs I follow and that is the only way to follow them, I honestly don't read them half the time!

  7. I finished the Roll, roll cotton boll in just the way you suggest, and I like it very much. A much smaller quilt, but still enough to snuggle in!! Love the pretty colors you have chosen!

  8. The thing I found with emailing my blog posts is that they arrive without formatting. So what looks pretty on the website doesn't in an email. Since I go to the trouble of making my posts look pretty, I'm not enthused with this option.

Also, emailing doesn't give the reader an opportunity to comment unless they click out of their email and open your blog page. It's easier to say "I'll do it later" and never come back.

  10. Those are so pretty! I wasn't a fan of the string blocks for that one, so I ended up only doing half of them, and made them into hour glass blocks for the setting squares.

  12. Love those colors! So pretty. I struggle with keeping up with email and am always trying to eliminate... not add! Different strokes and all right?

  13. I have mine RRCB in blocks too. Looks like you have more done on the boarders then me. I have trouble getting the blocks sewn together because it gets big.

  14. I, too have these blocks sitting in a pile. I don't like to do strings and I can't find the border instructions, so I'm stuck. I can't wait to see your finished quilt and what you came up with.
