My latest treadled scrap blocks are on the design wall today. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my treadle sewing machine! It defies logic to explain how this is a different feeling from sewing on a regular machine (with "a tail" as the treadlers like to say!). I thought my interest in treadling might wane after the novelty wore off, but NOPE!
What do you think of this layout?
I think I am liking the vertical orientation (you can see the horizontal layout here), and I like the look of a plain light sashing where the batting on the design wall shows through the strips.
Hop over to Patchwork Times to gather inspiration from the design wall posting.
I like the layout. Vertical is a neat concept. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteI just love this one Kathy!! Gorgeous fabrics and fun quirks added..just yummy! I am glad you are enjoying your treadle.
ReplyDeleteI really like how your long strips look and think this would make a great kids or lap quilt. If I could find a place to set my tredle up where I could use it, your comments would have me treddling. But alas, I have run out of room in every room in my house. :-(
ReplyDeleteLove the vertical layout more than the horizontal one.So many options with this style of scrap quilt. Hubby is gone till Thursday so me thinks I will gets lots of sewing done...hmm if I stay home!!! wink wink
ReplyDeleteI really like the vertical layout. I am wanting to get my treadle out and use it.
ReplyDeleteI think the layout is great.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Kathy. Looks "almost" like a COIN quilt. Just has some added flair from the placement of the crumbs. Very fun!
ReplyDeleteI like both. I think the vertical layout might look nice on a gray background.
ReplyDeleteTempting me again with your Treadling...The strips are looking great. Nice to see all of the scraps on the wall being used for a quilt. What color sashing are you pondering?
ReplyDeleteI finally figured out how to use my treadle and I love it too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love this layout.
ReplyDeleteYou GO GIRL...love that Scrappy Goodness!
ReplyDeleteYou make me want to remove the pile of basted quilts from the top of my treadle and start using it for piecing. But I have no place else to stack my quilts that are awaiting quilting. Maybe I should quilt them?
ReplyDeleteVery cool fabric strips. They remind me of stained glass.
ReplyDeleteMmm MMmmm Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI have *got* to figure out my own treadle! Your project looks great -- can't wait to see it done.
ReplyDeleteReally cool quilt. I love the vertical setting.
ReplyDeletei have two treadle machines, and I have always always wanted to try sewing on one, I need lessons!!
