A little bit of sewing is going on around here.I finished the scrappy binding for the scrap quilt I started two weeks ago. It is wound around a tube and ready to stitch to the quilt, but I have to quilt it first. I really want to work on finishing that one, but am forcing myself to work on my March UFO.
I finally realized what my problem was that was interfering with progress on this UFO. I didn't want to add another border! Duh! I was fussing around and unsure, and finally it hit me that I want a light border, and then a red binding.
So now I am pin basting it and hoping to quilt it this weekend.
Congrats on being ready to pin paste your UFO. Don't you love it when you finally get over your hump and figure out what you want to do. Love the scrap quilt, those colors are beautiful together.

ReplyDeleteI am almost finished my daughter's quilt maybe handstitching sunday will be me binding it? Going to spend the day in my sewing room today getting reaquainted with it...I have missed going there! Happy Easter friend!
I know what you mean. Sometimes I have to set projects aside for awhile and think about how I want to finish them while I work on new projects.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could learn to speak "quilt" so we didn't have to go through so much nonverbal stuff before I finally figure out what a quilt wants/needs.

ReplyDeleteGlad your quilt finally figured out what it needed. They do sometimes wait around for just the right solution.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it takes awhile, but we figure it out!! The best thing to remember is to let the piece speak to you and do what you thing is best. Not everything needs borders, borders, and more borders. So many of my quilts and wallhangings are borderless and better for it!
