Here are my Scrappy Rainbow goals for the remaining days of 2012:
*sew one more brown block. I still have enough brown scraps left (thanks to Janet and Deanna). This second Knot block will use up the darker browns, into blacks.
*to round out a nice even dozen blocks for my Knot sampler, I need one more colour... maybe a bright, lime green Knot block? I will gather up all the blocks and put them on the Monday design wall post.
*get volume 6 of the 100 Blocks magazine and pick a new challenge block for 2013.

Love the knot! Good idea to check out the 100 blocks magazine for a new challenge block. Off to quilt and bind a quilt so I have some hand work later this week!
ReplyDeleteI use the same seam ripper. I am able to rip out the tiniest stitches with it and I find the shape of the handle fits comfortably in my hand.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have noticed the error if you hadn't mentioned it. Looked good to me. : ) But I understand the need to fix it.
ReplyDeleteI also like your idea about choosing a block for next year.
I like your lime green idea. It would make a nice addition to your collection. Hard to believe the year is almost over, but it is time to start thinking about rounding it all up.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful block. Shame about having to undo it though. You have some great things on your blog too. I love the vote for women blocks and also your climbing the mountain quilt is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteKathy, once again your knot is lovely and thank you for the FNSI link - Friday is my night to sew/quilt!
ReplyDeleteGreat block Kathy! I love it in the brown fabrics :*) Can't wait to see what you choose for your 2013 block!
ReplyDeleteYour mistake was one of those that not pointed out, would never be noticed ... but I can see how once you *did* see it, you'd have to change it! Looks like you had a fun FNSI! :)
ReplyDeleteYour brown knot looks nice! The lime green is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt in your header.
So happy you were able to get enough browns to create a knot block. Curious to see what block you'll choose for next year!
ReplyDeleteGreat block. Good idea to make a brown to black block. I have rainbow quilts that need an extra block or two also. I am on the look out for #6 too. I looked for it this week but no luck yet.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty block for a rainbow challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing all of them together in a quilt.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have noticed the rotation, but I always hate it when something didn't quite go together the way I planned. It bugs me to no end until I fix it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous block.
