This is my 4th twister quilt and here is a photo of the 3 minis on top of the tablerunner. Even though I've made 4 quilts using this technique, I can't wait to make another one! What is it about this method of producing quilt blocks that I enjoy so much? Does anyone have any insight to share with me about that?!? LOL
I also taught a twister class at the local senior's centre and look at the wonderful variations they made!
As much fun as piecing these twister blocks is, the quilting is also fun! I machine quilted this one with tiny little swirls and loved every minute of quilting it. I took a photo with a quarter so you could see the scale of the blocks.
I quilted some tiny swirls in the 1" border which are just so cute!
Have you made a twister quilt yet? Click here for a YouTube video showing how the ruler works. And if you hop over to Connie's blog, she has a great tutorial for another version of the twister that I'd like to try. Actually, it's probably best not to get started with the twister quilts, or you might get addicted like me!

oh that's a good twister! I was scared for a second when I read your blog title!! they are all fabulous!!
ReplyDeletelove this! I have made a table runner but not a mini.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I especially love the teeny tiny quilting motifs!
ReplyDeleteI think it is so likable as it is hard to visualize exactly what the twisted blocks will look like. I want to get playing with this ruler, but need some finishes first.
ReplyDeleteI have the rulers but still haven't even made one. Now Marti Michell has made a template for this type of block with NO wasted fabrics. One Template makes all sizes. Think I'll get one made now? I love how you quilted yours!
ReplyDeleteI have made a baby quilt and a table topper, using the Twister Ruler and it is so much fun. I believe I have three sizes of the tool but have not used the large size. I saw a Valentine table topper at a quilt show and liked the look of that too.

Very cute and your quilting is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I was thinking of you last night as I sewed HSTs that will finish about dime size. Am I nuts?!!!!
ReplyDeleteI made a wall hanging for a friend for Christmas out of Civil War fabrics with the 5" ruler. Loved the process so much I had to make one for myself. I made a Twin size Christmas quilt out of Fa La La fabrics which the machine quilter has had for FIVE MONTHS! What the heck? Anyway, I can't wait to do another using the leftovers in that tiny size. So addictive.
ReplyDeleteYes, those Twisters can be so addicting but in a good way right!
ReplyDeleteI love the twister tools, and like you, I just can't stop! I have made so many, in a variety of sizes, but the process never gets old. I made Christmas wreaths using the tool last year (wall hangings or small table toppers) and everyone I gifted them to loved them....almost as much as I loved making them. mdmontalvo@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little quilts and yes....I love making the lil twister blocks in all the sizes.............now you're going to give me the bug again! Cute quilting in the center, I'll have to try that one!
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is great on your tiny tiny twister. I have the ruler but haven't made any thing with it yet. Also looked at previous posts. Your yellow knot block is looking great. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE doing these twister blocks. But what I really like is how you are quilting them. Thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWhen I made my itty bitty pinwheel quilt I quilted it in straight lines. I love how you have quilted yours. I need to make another one now. : )
ReplyDeleteI have the Twister rulers but have yet to use them, I'll get on that as soon as I finish Settler's Trial. Looks like fun to me!
ReplyDeleteI love twister quilts! I have the regular twister ruler and my charm pack all picked out, I need to finish up some other projects and I will get started on it. I did see the mini twister ruler in the store the other day. It is sooo cute. I may have to go back and pick it up. Your minis look great!
